Homework (Due 9/29)

Clue #1: The note left in The Shepards map case.
When we searched his room, we found an empty map case. We had to assume it belonged to him but we couldn't be sure. We found a note in it that read: "With so many courses, only one is taken." We didn't know what this meant or who wrote it. We decided to check the Map Room for the Shepard's map and compare handwriting. We couldn't do this without Gabriella, also missing, who is the only one who knows which map belongs to whom. Once we secured Gabriella's rescue, she took us to see the Shepard's map. Only it was missing. She confirmed that the handwriting on the note belonged to the Shepard. With the knowledge that the map was missing came possible understanding. The map room is a large building with maps all over the walls. The Shepards map was taken, probably by those who kidnapped him. Thus, "With so many courses, only one is taken" referring to the many, many maps and the only one to come up missing.
Mystery #2: The unseen shooter.
When we went to speak to Persistance Black about the reciept we had, she was on the run from the Razors. The Razors are of the Swordsman's Guild. According to Henri, they're like the best of the best. Everyone gave chase while Breck headed to the ferry. She fell behind and had to come up with a new plan. She found Persistance's personal ferryman, Harold, and informed him of Miss Blacks predicament. He wasn't suprised and was ready with pistols loaded for her to come running. It seemed this happened rather frequently. When Persistance came running with Breck's friends and the Razors in tow, someone fired a shot that landed at the feet of the Castillian Razor. We didn't see where it came from and we're not sure who it was really intended for.
Mystery #3: The Flower
Persistance lead us to the place where she heard a commotion the night of Gabriella's disappearance. As we got there, the man we'd caught hiding at Gabriella's house (Four is his name) and a couple of his henchmen came out of the shadows with Gabriella, who was disheveled. She had a flower in her hair. They claimed to have left the clues that led us there so that we'd pay for Gabriella's return. We decided not to pay the demanded ransom and convinced Fiora to get Gabriella away while we dispatched her kidnappers. Johnathan Flynn showed up in a flying contraption and was yelling that he was there to save Gabriella. He fired some kind of gas into the area and yelled for Gabriella to use the flower to breathe in and thus, not be affected by the choking cloud. We fought the kidnappers until it was clear they didn't want to fight any longer. They told us they were hired by a Montaigne who said he'd double whatever ransom they got if they kidnapped Gabriella. The Montaigne was to find them when it was done. We let them go with the stipulation that they allow us to hide out and watch them so we could question the Montaigne man who supposedly arranged the whole thing. The mystery is this: We saw Gabriella had the flower in her hair before Flynn ever got there. How did Gabriella get the flower that would help Flynn to rescue her BEFORE she was kidnapped? This suggests that the flower was given to her before her kidnapping and so that she would have it to use during the rescue and points to Flynn as the possible Mastermind behind the whole thing. Needless to say, we'll have a few more questions for Flynn and Four and his crew.
